Make a big impact

Our season is a bit different from past ones this year because it starts later (Mid-June) and goes right up until the end of November.  I feel like the "busy period" has shifted because Winnipeg weather isn't all that reliable and this spring has been such a good example of that.  The past week we have been busy putting the finishing touches on a few weddings with our brides who have planned to tie the knot next month.  One of the areas of decor that is often a struggle for our brides to plan is the guest book table/entrance way to the reception space.  Many don't want to go with an extra centerpiece stuck on the table but would rather see a vignette that is different but complementary to the other floral elements of the wedding.  Often times they have some personal pieces that we incorporate into the table scape's.

One idea that we really love is for the bride to contribute a piece that will go on to be used in the newly weds home.  It can be a set of silver candle sticks, a mirrored frame or even a vase that really catches the bride's eye.  Bringing in an element of your personal style is such a great way to make your event really stand out from the others that your guests might also be attending this year.  The pieces can be an investment piece that you will likely have for a long time or something fun that reflects current trends but either way you will have a piece of the day that you can keep forever as opposed to vases that you have to bring back to the florist in a week.

Here are some of our favorite ideas:
The Tornado Vase from Baccarat

Symmetry Candle Holders from Parytlite

Mercury Glass Candle Holders also by Partylite
There are so many options that would work and you might already have one at home. Your florist can easily work with you to make your pieces work or help you choose some that would be a great fit for your wedding and home.
