We had a wedding this weekend and despite the frigid temperatures we managed to get the flowers to our beautiful bride in one piece.
Liz was curling in the Scotties Provincial Championships this week so I was on my own for this one and recruited my willing husband to give me a hand with delivery. We packed up all the bouquets and triple wrapped them to make sure that stunning Miss S got to see them in their full glory without a hint to frost bite. I hardly ever get to see my ladies the day of but I was chatting with the MOB giving her some tips on how to wrap and transport when the bride herself came running into the room. When she looked at her flowers she told me they were even more beautiful then she imagined in her head and I got a wee bit misty eyed. When we are constructing our pieces I always make sure that I would carry that bouquet myself which results in some LOOOOOOONG nights on occasion. So to hear that the bride loves, loves, loves what we come up with is ultra rewarding.
This woman wanted a romantic and whimsical feeling to her blooms so we went with lots of texture and some unexpected combinations. I love the combo of Donkey's tail succulents (that's the real name, I promise!!) and pretty spray roses mixed with the floppy lisianthus. I will be stalking her photog's blog for that sneak peak post but for now here is my own shot of the bouquet!
